What Does the 317 Board Do?
- Creates a “network of care” for people who need treatment for mental illness and/or alcohol and drug addiction.
- Contracts with local non-profit and government agencies to deliver services to our friends, families and community members.
- Obtains funds, designs policies, and monitors services for those seeking help.
- Promotes educational and prevention programs to raise community awareness of behavioral health issues.
The Ohio Revised Code prohibits the following individuals from serving on the 317 Board’s board of directors:
- Board members of any of the 317 Board’s contracted service providers
- Employees of any of the 317 Board’s contracted service providers
- Individuals whose spouse, child, parent, brother, sister, grandchild, stepparent, stepchild, stepbrother, stepsister, father-in-law, mother-in-law, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, brother-in-law, or sister-in-law serves as a member of the board of one of the 317 Board’s contracted service providers
- Individuals whose spouse, child, parent, brother, sister, stepparent, stepchild, stepbrother, stepsister, father-in-law, mother-in-law, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, brother-in-law, or sister-in-law serves as a county commissioner of Athens, Hocking, or Vinton counties.
317 Board members must be a resident of either Athens, Hocking, or Vinton counties.
