As teachers and role models, they not only challenge society’s negative views about mental illness, but are committed to enhance the lives of the students through the art of photography. As they interact with the wider community through their work and their shows, they open minds to understanding and acceptance. As a group and individually, they embody the spirit of Rita Gillick “to never stop their advocacy efforts for those with mental illnesses.”
